Wedding Transportation for your Entrance, Exit and Everything in Between

Monday, October 12th, 2020

There are so many steps to planning a wedding. Some of the logistical details are easy to overlook! Planning wedding transportation to and from your ceremony and reception sites is one you can’t afford to miss. Guest parking is another. We’ve compiled a list of need-to-knows so you can plan your to’s and from’s with complete confidence – Read on!

Wedding Transportation for your Entrance, Exit and Everything in Between

Who needs transportation?

The first people to headcount for are you, your partner, the wedding party and close family. Close family can include but isn’t limited to parents, grandparents and siblings not in the wedding party. A limousine typically holds six people, a stretch limo holds around 10, and vans can hold anywhere between 8 to 20 people. We highly recommend not completely filling the car to accommodate for random wedding items and providing extra space for your party. An important person to not forget a spot for is your photographer! Trust us, you don’t want to miss out on those candid shots in the car.

While it is generous to provide transportation for your guests, this isn’t necessary. The most important thing that matters is ensuring your guests make it home safely that night. If you’re wanting to help your guests without booking additional transportation, include some travel tips on your website on the easiest ways to get to and from the ceremony and reception. Providing a cab company’s number or encouraging everyone to download a ride sharing app can be the simplest ways to encourage your guests to travel safely. If transportation for guests is included in your budget, we recommend asking if the hotel or venue offers a shuttle service. If you’re wanting to take the unique route, rent a souped-up school bus for all your guests to pile into.

Where to and from?

Going to the chapel and you’re…running late! Plan to arrive at the ceremony location at least 25 minutes early so that even if you’re running late, you’ll still be on time. The couple typically travels separately from the accommodations or getting ready location to the ceremony with their respective party in tow. A third car can be rented for the couple’s close family and older relatives. If your budget allows, the wedding party and family can ride in the same cars to the reception location. Planning who rides in which car will eliminate any confusion beforehand and allow things to run more smoothly. When leaving the ceremony, you and your new spouse are going to want to have your own private ride. This will allow time to take pictures after the ceremony, relax and spend some alone time together before the reception!

Car Swag Ideas

Like all great rom coms, you and your partner need a noteworthy getaway! So maybe you’re not riding into the sunset on a lawn mower but your vehicle should still be your dream ride. Are you and your partner being carried away on a romantic horse and buggy? Or are you zipping away on a two-wheel ride? Whichever vehicle best suits you, car “swag” is an essential! Have you ever gotten a rush of joy when you saw someone drive by with a “Just Married” sign and tin cans trailing behind? Leave with a bang by using these unique decor ideas for an epic getaway:

A Look Inside The Big Fake Wedding Dallas Spring 2017

Friday, April 21st, 2017

Photos by Lauren LaBoyteaux Photography

We simply love The Big Fake Wedding Dallas! What better way for brides to plan their weddings than to attend a super fun event and see the event professionals in action! This new and fun alternative to a bridal show is a must for any bride-to-be. Rather than the typical booth style show, a full-scale wedding ceremony and reception are brought to life for a real couple, but “wedding guests” are couples who have the chance to see a behind-the-scenes look at the preparation that goes into executing an amazing wedding. Attendees also get to mix and mingle with vendors who they could directly see contributing their skills to the show. The theme of this year’s event was entitled “Fresh Outlook,” and the scene was set at the amazing sixty five hundred!  With an eclectic color scheme of teal, orange and lavender, we were swooning over this free-spirited yet modern evening!

Don’t miss the next Big Fake Wedding Dallas happening Wednesday, September 20, 2017, at The Laurel!  Visit Big Fake Wedding online for more info or RSVP here!

Brunch with The Brides of North Texas Unveiling the Spring/Summer Issue

Friday, February 3rd, 2017

Last week, we had another amazing opportunity to kick back and brunch with many of the wedding vendors that play such a big part in the making of Brides of North Texas.  Our Spring/Summer 2017 issue is a complete beauty, and we had a blast “glamping” with these incredible people, celebrating the issue release! Jen Rios Weddings was the mastermind behind this outdoorsy casual event, leaving no detail to chance, not even the dress code! Guests, arriving in plaid, fur vests and boots, were treated to a fun morning at Mopac Event Center, and the day kicked off with passed appetizers and cocktails of spiked cocoa or hot cider by the open fire on the outdoor veranda. Vintage Sparkle Rentals set the scene with a super cute lounge space for guests to cuddle on couches under fur blankets on this chilly day! The guests were invited to find a place setting inside to get out of the cold at beautifully adorned tables provided by Top Tier Event Rentals. Something Pretty Floral knocked each floral arrangement out of the park, and The Ashton Depot Catering wowed us with their synchronized catering service of even more amazing fare! Loft 22 Cakes ran with the outdoorsy theme and created the cutest build your own s’mores bar! DJ Jason Esquire dropped amazing vibes to brunch by, and Cleggraphy Designs always puts the best finishing touches on our day of signage! (From flamingos to pine trees, she truly can do it all!) Trisha Kay Photography provided her brand new photo booth, Bokeh Booth & Co., for guests to be silly and candid. Beauty by Yari was responsible for helping our Brides of North Texas team members look even more gorgeous than they already are with fab hair and makeup styling! Huge thank you to Allen Tsai Photography for capturing the entire morning so perfectly for us! Cheers to the Spring/Summer 2017 issue!
