This Modern Chic Boho Wedding at D’Vine Grace Vineyard Takes the Cake

Tuesday, February 16th, 2021

This modern chic boho wedding takes the cake – pun intended! With the bride loving all of the charm and beauty of Italy and being a sucker for stucco, red tile roofing, and the European-inspired style, there simply couldn’t have been a more perfect reception venue for their celebration than D’Vine Grace Vineyard. Bailey, the lovely bride, nailed it right on the head when she said this gorgeous venue “makes you feel like you’re in Tuscany, Italy, from the moment you enter the front gates,” and we honestly couldn’t agree more! Light champagne, cream and blush combine to make the ultimate boho, soft nude palette and work in perfect harmony with dramatic blooms of pampas grass, white orchids, quick sand roses and dried amaranthus. When we said this wedding takes the cake, we were definitely talking about this couple’s stunning white and gold geode-inspired wedding cake from Butterfly Cakery! With geodes and agate stones being an obsession of the bride, there truly couldn’t have been a better way to incorporate that love than with their wedding cake – and I mean, isn’t it one of the most beautiful things you’ve ever seen? For even more sweetness, the couple rented the cutest cotton candy bar from Warehouse Rose Events that is still talked about today from all of the couple’s family and friends. Scroll to see all of the modern boho chic details in this wedding, all perfectly captured by the amazing Gaby Caskey Photography! Cheers to Mr. and Mrs. Klement!

From the bride: “My favorite part of our wedding day was our first look! Zachary and I wanted to have a special moment between just us. I was nervous that I would miss out on the moment of him seeing me in my dress for the first time when I walked down the aisle, but having time between just us two was ten times more special and magical to me.”

Unexpected Elements Pair Perfectly in this Modern Jewel Toned Wedding

Thursday, February 11th, 2021

Unexpected elements pair perfectly in this modern indoor garden celebration at The Laurel that features a stunning jewel toned wedding color palette! After bonding over their love of food and dogs, Michelle and Nathan knew their love was something unique, and they simply couldn’t pass up the opportunity to have their modern garden wedding on February 29th – a unique and timeless element to signify their “leap” into a new life together. After their relaxed and intimate ceremony, it was time to get to the party! Their romantic reception scene – full of unexpected elements like velvet and concrete that pair perfectly with their jewel toned color palette – was everything they could have imagined, all made possible by statement decor pieces from POSH Couture Rentals. Delicious bites from Wendy Krispin Caterer simply have our mouths watering, and don’t even get us started on their gorgeous cake from Sugar Bee Sweets Bakery! A three-tiered edible masterpiece adorned with sugar paper that looks like glass easily looks like a decor piece in itself, as it was truly the sweetest way to end the night. The highlight of this celebration from the bride was the dance party that lasted into the late hours of the evening, fueled by the unmatched tunes from the expert DJ Jason Esquire! Scroll to see how perfectly paired all of the unexpected elements from this day are, as well as the stunning jewel toned color palette that infuses it all. Cheers to the McCrights!

From the bride: “We did a first look, which was one of the best moments of the day. We had an intimate ceremony with immediate family, bridal party and a few close friends. We made a last-minute decision to write our own vows, and I’m so glad we did! It was such a personal touch to add to the ceremony and made it that much more memorable.”

This Classic Blush Wedding is a Modern Fairytale Brought to Life

Tuesday, February 9th, 2021

These high school sweethearts had a classic blush wedding that is truly a modern fairytale brought to life! Expertly planned by Alexa Kay Events, this light and airy scene full of blush details is brought to life within the bright white walls of the oh-so stately The Olana. Lauren looked stunning in her fit-n-flare, mermaid style gown from the Bridal Boutique that looks like it was made just for her to wear on her big day. Her eight bridesmaids couldn’t have looked better standing beside her in their off-the-shoulder gowns from Beside the Bride in the perfect shade of light blush. Delicate blooms from Alba Dahlia Floral, who just so happens to be this bride’s cousin, bring in a fresh and springy feel to this scene, and we’re absolutely obsessed with all of the beautiful arrangements throughout made up of pale pink roses, white hydrangeas and sprigs of white gladiolus. Sugar Bee Sweets Bakery created two unique cakes for this celebration, each perfectly suited for the couple in their own ways – a sweet and simple white cake adorned with the couple’s florals for the bride, and a duck hunting cake for the groom. It seems like every detail of this classic celebration is flawless, including the couple’s custom invitation suite from Bethany’s Letter Shop featuring whimsical lettering that fits right into the fairytale theme of this day. We haven’t stopped scrolling through all of the stunning photos by Megan Kay Photography, and don’t even get us started on Lauren and Tyler’s wedding film from Reverent Wedding Films – you’re going to want to watch every second of it! Scroll to see all the blush details of this classic day that is truly a modern fairytale brought to life. Cheers to the Halliburtons!

From the bride on her favorite memory: “I’m going to be cliché and say marrying my best friend. After having dated for seven years and doing long distance in college, this was long awaited. It’s such a special feeling.”

Ivory Stone: Statement Gowns for the Modern Romantic

Monday, February 8th, 2021

We’re so incredibly excited to reveal our latest fashion editorial, Ivory Stone: a collection of statement gowns for the modern romantic, captured expertly in photo and video by The Lockharts! In a scene full of natural and earthy elements, modern design meets timeless elegance in the refined gardens of the Nasher Sculpture Center, where this editorial was brought to life. Overflowing with dried foliage and heavy textural elements, muted floral arrangements from Root + Bloom in golden shades of ivory, blush and sand contrast against the lush greenery and cool marble accents throughout this scene. Our model bride was striking in each of the four statement bridal gowns from these local bridal boutiques (see credits for each below), and each look was accented with most incredible dimaond rings from L’unique Diamonds and Fine Jewelry. Paired with sunkissed and dewy bridal makeup looks, WZ Beauty Studio gave our model soft, effortless voluminous waves that framed her face both up and down, perfectly complementing her peachy glow that carried over in each of the four scenes.

You’ll want to watch the video shared below for a more exclusive look behind the scenes of Ivory Stone! Cheers!

Choosing the Perfect Wedding Reception Fashion + Exit Attire

Friday, January 22nd, 2021

You’ve found your perfect wedding gown, but have you considered what you’ll wear when you exit your celebration? We’re pretty sure THE cutest and most underrated wedding tradition is when the bride changes into an exit outfit either for the reception or right before the grand send-off, and brides today are definitely bringing a new stylish approach to this long-followed vintage tradition. There’s just something so symbolic about the outfit change that could signal more than retro elegance and tradition. Beyond practical clothing or just another ensemble to rock, this quick change is easily a bridge between the wedding day celebration and everyday married life – a slight ode to your perfect day ending and your real-life love story beginning. Whether you want to bust out your best moves on the dance floor or are sweeping straight to the airport to jet off to your honeymoon, you won’t want to step out in a full-length, puffy wedding gown. We’ve picked out our top choices for chic and stylish reception fashion and exit attire, perfect for any bride looking for comfort and convenience as she parties the night away on her dream day. Scroll to find the one for you!

Choosing the Perfect Wedding Reception Fashion + Exit Attire

1. Strapless Jumpsuit | 2. V-neck Sequin Dress | 3. Structured Midi Dress | 4. White Halter Swing Dress | 5. Sequin Long-Sleeved Mini Dress | 6. Maxi Dress with Batwing Sleeve and Wrap Waist

Comfort, comfort, comfort!

While your wedding gown is absolutely stunning and wonderful, it might not exactly be the most comfortable thing to wear. Comfort is the MOST important thing when it comes to enjoying every aspect of your wedding day! When you’re comfortable, you can be 100% you and enjoy where you are – and we wouldn’t want anything less for you during your once-in-a-lifetime celebration. Changing into a shorter dress, a strapless jumpsuit or a less-bulky maxi dress may be just what you’re needing to be comfortable during your reception or grand exit – how else would you bust out your signature moves on the dance floor or cartwheel to your exit vehicle?

Two dresses are better than one

You found the gown to say “I do” in, but what about that style that came in close second to your dream gown? Maybe you wanted long sleeves but found a strapless gown that stole your heart, or you always envisioned yourself in white but found a light pink gown that you couldn’t pass up. Here’s where your reception and exit attire come in – two dresses means twice the excitement and twice the gorgeous outfits! Imagine the reaction of your guests when you step out of the reception or for the grand exit in a new and stunning outfit. Truly priceless!

Convenience is key!

If you’re hopping in the car with your bags packed when you exit your wedding to sweep straight to the airport to jet off to your honeymoon, you’ll want to be comfortable and ready when you arrive. A jumpsuit or short dress is the perfect airport attire, and you can always easily throw on a cardigan and some tennis shoes for extra comfort and style. Bonus: your reception and exit attire can double for a cute outfit to wear during your honeymoon! Or whether you’re leaving a brunch reception or even a late afternoon wedding, you still have a full day ahead of you to enjoy time with your new spouse. The day doesn’t have to be over just because your reception is over!

Friday, January 15th, 2021

Kindala and David’s intimate chapel ceremony was followed by this chic blush reception, and we can’t get over all of its romantic feels! From the bride: “After getting ready I was able to spend some time with just my mom and sister as they helped with the final touches of putting on my dress and veil. That moment was really special for me because my mom and sister both live in different states, so to be able to share that moment with them was special!”

Specialty drinks were already one of our favorite weddings trends, and as if they couldn’t get any better, 2020 put this trend on wheels! Drink carts brought cuteness and a touch of fun to weddings this last year. As one of the latest trends of 2020, bubbly drinks, brews and craft coffee carts are a delicious trend we can’t wait to see continue in 2021!

Neon Signs

Neon signs are an edgy and moody decor piece that can brighten up any wedding scene – literally! One thing we love about neon signs is their customization and the sweetest personal touch they add to traditional wedding decor, while being perfectly non-traditional in the most stunning way. While being completely versatile, neon signs fit just about any and every wedding theme and style. We can’t wait to see this trend continue into 2021!

Pampas Grass

Pampas grass is a classic boho wedding element that definitely made its appearance known in 2020! Used in almost every floral installation imaginable, pampas grass is a trend we know we’ll see make even more appearances in the new year. Gorgeous in themselves or paired with complementing dried florals, pampas grass is a trend we’re LIVING for, and these scenes are the epitome of pampas grass in the most stunning ways!

Minimalist Bridal Gowns

Sometimes less is more, and if these minimalist bridal gowns are any evidence, going minimal can really make a huge statement! We can’t get over how simple yet extremely elegant these brides were in 2020 with their minimalist gowns. So simple yet so lovely – and we couldn’t love it more!

Balloon Installations

Whimsy at it’s finest, balloon installations popped into our favorite wedding trends of 2020, and it’s easy to see why! Balloons add just the right amount of visual interest to any wedding reception, and we adore how unique and non-traditional they are. These displays took creativity to a whole new level, whether being multi-functional or just being an eye-catching focal point of these wedding scenes. With a balloon display, these celebrations were definitely poppin’!

Grandmillennial Style

Grandmillennial style – or granny chic – was one of the most emergent trends in 2020, even though it’s been around for quite some time. Grandmillenial style emphasizes floral patterns, bold colors and eclectic antiques, creating a blended style that marries a millennial’s modern take on their grandma’s traditional style. As the juxtaposition of minimalism and maximism, grandmillennial style is comfy-cozy and the perfect reflection of the individual’s story and personality. We adore how down-to-earth this unique, vintage and nostalgic trend turned out in these 2020 wedding scenes!

This Corona Wedding Combines all the Best Moody & Boho Chic Details

Friday, December 11th, 2020

This corona wedding combines all the best moody and boho chic details into a romantic scene that we’re captivated by! With all the craziness of planning a wedding in this time, what truly mattered to this couple was getting married to one another, no matter what shape or form it was in. Kathryn and Mathieu always joked during wedding planning that “if all else fails we’ll get married with our parents and sister and that’s what matters” – fortunately, their joke was the truth in how they really felt, as that’s exactly what ended up happening for their corona wedding day! Romance was definitely in the air, as the gardens of Artspace111 provided the perfect setting for their intimate and personal wedding ceremony. Moody, boho chic details of soft blush and ivory florals paired with pampas grass, wicker baskets and a lovely Persian-style rug made for a beautiful altar for Kathryn and Mathieu to say their “I Do’s” in front of their seven wedding guests. While this day was nothing how originally planned, Kathryn and Matthew wouldn’t have done it differently, as it was perfectly special and personal in every way imaginable. Scroll to read this couple’s full story, and to see their moody, boho chic celebration at Artspace111. Cheers!

From the bride: “COVID-19 became very real and impactful about 10 days prior to our wedding. Over the course of those days, we quickly moved through five different plans of what our wedding day would look like, and then ultimately down to our immediate family with a private ceremony and a delayed reception. Mathieu and I had always joked that ‘if all else fails we’ll get married with our parents and sister and that’s what matters,’ and surprise – that’s what happened! Nothing was going to stop us from saying ‘I do’ to 3/21 and becoming husband and wife. Having to make the tough decision with regard to how to proceed with our wedding forced us to evaluate what was truly important about the day. Our parents, Mathieu’s sister and our officiant and his wife joined us for the event. In the end, I think it panned out perfectly for Mathieu and I. We were able to soak in the ceremony, the significance of our vows and intimacy of doing so with our immediate families. It was so special and personal. And now, come reception time, we’ll be able to focus our attention on being present with our loved ones and celebrating alongside them for the entirety of the weekend.”
