At the end of each year, we love to look back and see which trends made an impact on the North Texas wedding scene. In this particular recap, we’re revisiting the biggest cake and catering trends we saw over the past year! DFW’s culinary creatives knocked it out of the park, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to see what they create in 2020. Scroll through and let your mouth start watering, and see more fantastic ideas from these pro caterers and bakers on our vendors page!
Brush Strokes Cakes
We saw several cakes this year with abstract brush stroke adornments giving the layers a three-dimensional effect evoking movement and whimsy. We love how this effect can take a simple tiered cake from plain to wow-worthy – it’s also a great way to incorporate your wedding’s signature colors!
A different take on hors d’oeuvres, charcuterie boards and grazing stations made appearances in a plethora of DFW wedding scenes this year! We love the casual element a grazing board brings, while still presenting the food in an interesting and oh-so-pretty way!
Rustic Floral Backdrops
One gorgeous detail we noticed again and again this year? Putting cakes in the spotlight against rustic three-dimensional floral installation backdrops. What better way to flank the cake than with a whimsical floral install that draws attention to the sweetest part of the day in the best way.
