Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg Weds Priscilla Chan

Mark Zuckerberg marries Priscilla Chan Claire Pettibone dress

Maybe you already caught wind of the news – after all, he did update his status and change his life status to married which showed up in the Facebook News Feed to his over 14 million followers – but Mark Zuckerberg wed his long time girlfriend, Dr. Priscilla Chan, this past Saturday, May 19, 2012, in the backyard of their modest home in Palo Alto, California.  And, guess what?!  It was a surprise!  Perhaps you were already tuned in to Zuckerberg, given that the world was fixated on Facebook stock as the company officially went public last week.  But, the momentous business occasion for Facebook’s founder was just the precursor for wedding belles for this happy couple who carefully planned their surprise wedding.

Guests all thought they were invited to a graduation party for Priscilla who had just graduated from medical school.  The couple met while at Harvard before Zuckerberg left his studies to focus on Facebook.  Priscilla finished up at Harvard in 2007 and then went on to med school to become a pediatrician.
With fewer than 100 people in attendance, the bride looked stunning in her chosen Claire Pettibone laser cut, floral sheath wedding gown adorned with matte sequins lined in silk.  The subtle but intricate and romantic nature of the gown was perfectly suited for the couple’s private ceremony.  We love the dramatic lace back design!  She wore her hair simple and swept back with a veil.  And, Zuckerberg, famous for his hoodie or t-shirt with jeans traded up for a black jacket and tie for the occasion!  Neither have posted anything more to Facebook about their recent nuptials but we couldn’t wait to share the handful of photos we have from the happy couple on their wedding day!  Congratulations to the beautiful and happy couple!
Claire Pettibone specializes in ethereal dresses with a playful, vintage look; truly for a bohemian girl who wants to stand apart from the crowd.  Claire’s romantic and ultra feminine line incorporates jeweled eyelet lace, silk floral appliqués and detailed European trimmings.  The designer has taken her love of vintage style and created couture pieces for the true romantic at heart.  Claire Pettibone can be found locally at Stardust Celebrations.
