Modern Nostalgic Wedding Inspiration Editorial by Olive & Nine

A touch of whimsy and a splash of old-fashioned nostalgia, this editorial piece from our Spring/Summer 2018 issue is brining us endless modern romance wedding inspiration from Olive & Nine and we can’t get enough! Laylee Emadi Photography went behind the scenes to capture the setting at the appropriate giant green grass filled backyard setting of the Mopac Events Center in Fort Worth. Invitations and a paper suite from Brown Fox Creative set the tone for this little affair in shades of sage green and blush, hinting at the sweetness of the setup to come! The model bride wore a gorgeous lace and tulle overlay gown from Bridal Boutique, complemented by her simple beauty look featuring a neatly pulled-back up-do and soft, natural makeup both styled by Brittany Jones Hair and Makeup. Her gorgeous oval shaped ring with diamond band were provided by The True Gem. As one of the focal points of the shoot, an adults-only root beer float bar featured tasty sips by HD Liquid Catering, where guests could create custom beverages to enjoy in the adjacent lounge area. A plush, kelly green couch atop a vibrant pink Persian-like rug from Coral Lane welcomed all to join, including the bride and her bridesmaid both carrying bouquets made from blooms in playful shades of coral, marigold and mauve from Kate McLeod Studio. But the most unique detail of all? A beautiful white iced layered cake embellished with lace and fresh greenery from The Jenny Layne Bakery, displayed upside down! We can’t get enough of this darling shoot!

From the planner, Jordan Jennings of Olive & Nine: “The inspiration behind this shoot was a romantic bride who loves pops of color and modern elements. We wanted to bring to life her childhood favorites by resurrecting the root beer float and adding a twist to make an adult beverage. We imaged this bride loved dream catchers growing up, and we trusted The Jenny Layne Bakery to bring an upside-down hanging dream catcher cake to life.”
