Kari had a feeling in her heart that she was going to meet the man she was going to marry by the end of the summer and she was just waiting on God’s timing. At the end of that summer, she met Peyton at her church’s young adults retreat. They were assigned to the same small group and felt an instant connection. Soon after the retreat, the couple started dating and Kari realized that her prayer was being answered.
Peyton told Kari that they were meeting with some friends of his for a Christmas dinner and that they were going to pick up a cake at a local restaurant. When they went to pick up the cake, they were escorted to a private room and watched a slideshow of their favorite memories together. After Kari said yes to Peyton’s proposal, the newly engaged couple enjoyed champagne and carrot cake. They took a few photos and then walked to Kari’s favorite restaurant where their family and friends threw a surprise engagement party.
