Julie Hardiman and Britt Neel’s Classic Southern Ballroom Wedding Captured by Dyan Kethley Photography
PERFECT PROPOSAL: Both Julie and Britt are very active and always enjoyed going on walks together on Katy Trail while they were dating. The morning of the proposal, Britt told Julie they were going on a walk and then to meet some friends for brunch. As they were walking down the trail, Julie began to see signs in the median. The first one said “WILL,” the second one said “YOU,” the third said “MARRY,” and the last one said “ME!” After the last sign, the couple ended up in an open courtyard with music playing, champagne waiting, and about 50 strangers gathered around. Britt got down on one knee and proposed.
SETTING THE SCENE: Julie’s favorite part of the historic Belo Mansion was the beautiful white columns in the front that went perfectly with the southern and classic theme of their wedding. Julie and Britt were married and had their reception in the large, spacious ballroom inside. The venue was perfect for its convenient location for their out-of-town guests. The catering provided by the Belo and the style of the building went perfectly with the classic, elegant and southern feel the couple was going for.
AMAZING ALTAR: The altar was set up at the front of the ballroom surrounded by champagne draping and tall white florals.
DELICIOUS DISHES: The wedding menu continued the southern style with stations featuring chicken and waffles, beef tenderloin and barbecue salmon. Julie and Britt had specialty drinks as well; the bride’s drink was a refreshing French 75 with gold sugar around the rim, and the groom’s drink was a stout Kentucky Mule.
SPECIAL TOUCHES: Julie’s favorite piece of décor was the gigantic and stunning floral halo with dripping candles in the middle of the white dance floor.
