Molly Oas and Ryan Hobby’s English Garden Inspired DFW Wedding
PERFECT PROPOSAL: Ryan’s parents were spending some time at a condo in Naples, Florida, so he and Molly planned a trip to visit them. Ryan mentioned that he and Molly could take a walk on the beach. The wind was blowing sand everywhere and Molly quickly asked if they could go back inside. Ryan agreed, but just as she turned to head back inside, he got down on one knee and proposed!
ENGLISH GARDEN: Molly wanted the style to be romantic, elegant and delicate. She loved the idea of contrasting light flowers against dark greenery, similar to an English garden. A pop of color was added through raspberry-colored flowers and ribbons on the bridesmaids’ bouquets to keep the colors playful.
SAVORY SWEETS: The largest cake from Jar Cakery was three tiers of almond cake covered in cascading flowers. There was a two-tiered vanilla cake with raspberry filling and vanilla icing, which was covered in raspberries and dusted with gold. The last and smallest cake was a two-tiered cinnamon roll cake that had icing piped on it to look like a baseball!
SPECIAL TRADITIONS: Both Ryan and Molly’s families came from Irish backgrounds. Ryan’s parents incorporated an “Irish Sing Along” into their reception over 30 years ago, and Ryan and Molly decided to that as well! The “Irish Sing Along” consisted of gathering all the guests together after dinner to sing a few Irish folk songs.
