Raelynn Goodman and Carlos Mendez’s Rustic Elegant DFW Wedding
SWEET BEGINNINGS: Raelynn and Carlos met in 2013 during their time in college. Surprisingly, he helped one of his best friends ask her on a date! They remained friends, and later, Carlos asked her on his own date (to a wedding)!
PERFECT PROPOSAL: Raelynn had planned a surprise birthday party for her aunt on October 10, 2015. She decorated, chose the food and in reality, planned every detail of her own engagement! Carlos asked her to marry him with all their family and close friends around. It is one of her favorite memories!
RUSTIC ELEGANCE: Raelynn and Carlos chose a rustic elegance theme and used neutrals in blush, crème and gold with a pop of red throughout. They thought the neutral, muted tones coincided with the fall season, while the red roses and burgundy peonies added a dramatic contrast.
BEAUTIFUL BLOOMS: Petals Couture created the bride’s bouquet using rich tones of red and gold with a hint of blush and greenery to create a perfectly rustic, yet elegant bouquet for an outdoor setting. Loosely arranged, the bold peonies, garden roses and dahlias were the perfect flowers for the mixture of textures Raelynn was looking for. Hand spun French silk ribbons were hanging from the bouquet for an added romantic feel.
MOST MEMORABLE MOMENT: The most memorable moment for Raelynn was during their final dance. Everyone was outside lighting the sparklers while she and Carlos danced to “Can’t Help Falling in Love” by Elvis Presley. They are both musicians and that song is the first song they ever performed together. It was a sweet moment, dancing together and taking their final moments of their wedding in together.
DELICIOUS DISHES: Carlos and his family are from Venezuela, so they had a traditional Venezuelan dish called “Pabellon”, with chicken and beef options, that were catered by Zaguan in Dallas.
