From the bride: “The proposal wasn’t flashy by any means. Rob knows that I am not one for a big scene. May 11, 2017, the night before I graduated from Texas Woman’s University, my parents and younger sister along with Rob and his parents drove up for the celebration. We went to eat at Hard Eight BBQ in Roanoke, Texas, because our families love BBQ, and also, it was one of mine and Rob’s favorite places to eat. I didn’t think much of it at the time, but everyone was acting a little strange. As we finished and were walking out of the restaurant, Rob was saying we needed to get a picture. Here I am thinking he wants to get a picture with our families, so I’m trying to flag someone down to take our picture but our parents seem to be ignoring me. They said we will all get one later, that they just want one of just Rob and I right now. I stand there posing for the picture not paying any attention to what Rob is doing. Rob is now down on one knee, and all I do is cry… which makes him cry. As we are both crying he puts the ring on my finger. It was so sweet and unexpected. So when we were deciding on food for the wedding we wanted to go with Hard Eight since it was where Rob proposed.
One moment of our wedding I will never forget is when Rob went to put the ring on my finger he thought I was holding out the wrong hand. He kept trying to grab my right, and he finally said, ‘Other hand goofy!’ The best man and maid of honor at the same time said, ‘No, other hand!’ We all laughed and Jason and Laurie captured that moment so we can all look back and laugh.”
