PERFECT PROPOSAL: Garrett made plans for the two to have dinner with his brother and sister-in-law. When Leigh and Garrett met in downtown Dallas, he invited her up to the roof of a building to “see the view.” The elevators opened and bouquets of blue hydrangeas led the couple to a spot where Garrett told Leigh how much he loved her and proposed. Leigh’s best friend was around the corner taking photos, and family and friends were waiting for the newly engaged pair downstairs where they celebrated the rest of the evening.
GET HER LOOK: Leigh chose a simple lace Mikaella gown from LuLu’s Bridal with a sweeping train, cap sleeves and low back with scalloped lace along the empire seam. She wore a cathedral-length veil with embroidery along the hem.
SAVORY SWEETS: Leigh wanted a classic three-tier white wedding cake with a twist, and Sugar Bee Sweets Bakery did a wonderful job by incorporating a Swiss dot pattern on two of the three tiers along with fresh flowers from the florist. The groom’s cake showcased two of Garrett’s favorite things: golfing and the South, complete with a North Carolina flag as a nod to his birthplace.
REFINED SOUTHERN GARDEN: Leigh and Garrett had a Southern garden wedding in hues of navy, harbor cove and shades of pink that included little personal touches allowing their guests to see their personalities and feel at home.
WORDS OF WISDOM: Choose vendors and professionals that know and love their specialty, and allow them to run with it. You will see their best work, and it is a blast to partner with others to see your vision come to life. One of Leigh’s favorite things about planning their wedding was the incredible people she was able to meet and interact with along the way.
