Couple Celebrates Their Heritage with a Traditional Hindu Wedding

Yesha and Larry tied the knot last August with a traditional Hindu wedding. The couple met when Yesha was hired at the law firm where Larry worked. After she worked for the company a mere two days, Larry began playing pranks from The Office on Yesha. Shortly after the pranking began Yesha realized Larry had feelings for her. “Somewhere between pranking and bickering, we fell in love,” the bride said.

The couple celebrated that love by honoring both of their cultures when they wed. While the ceremony was a traditional Hindu ceremony honoring Yesha’s Indian background, Larry’s culture was also celebrated and his mother wore a traditional Korean hanbok. On the first day of the three day celebration, Yesha and the women close to the family had henna applied by a professional henna artist. On day two, the family showered Yesha with Haldi, commonly known as turmeric. The Haldi paste is believed to prepare the bride for her wedding day by purifying the body, settling her nerves and leaving her with a gorgeous bridal glow. On the wedding day, the couple exchanged vows and performed traditional Hindu rituals to signify their unity.

White, blush, merlot and green combined to create a stunning color combination for the attire and decor. The bride’s wedding outfits were purchased in India and the bridal party wore custom designs by Yesha made from fabric purchased in India! Megan Kay Photography captured the ceremonies and details from the weekend beautifully. Keep scrolling to read how the photographer added even more joy to the weekend. Cheers to the newlyweds!

From the bride on her dream wedding maker: “Megan Kay Photography was very easy to work with and sweet. She did a great job capturing our wedding, even though it was her first experience photographing an Indian wedding. Her excitement brought an added level of joy to our wedding.”
