At New York bridal market, one of the most highly-anticipated and attended (we’re talking standing room only and that’s if you happen to make it in time and not get caught in traffic) is Monique Lhuillier’s runway event. As one runway show wrapped, we took off in a dead sprint to see this amazing couture design house’s show, and we literally ran for blocks and made it just in time before they closed their doors. Inside, Monique Lhuillier unveiled an exquisite and truly bridal collection with her 2012 wedding gowns, fitting of the endless accolades she receives for designing sophisticated and luxurious gowns that provoke femininity, allure and glamour. The models seemed to float down the runway in their ethereal and romantic gowns – one after an amazing another. It was a dreamlike show. Flowing chiffon, soft layers of carefully constructed fabrics, tulle, delicate bows, lace and embroidery – all can be found in her new collection.
