Culinary Creatives – Behind the Bar with DFW Wedding Bartender HD Liquid Catering

Meet Christina Henley of HD Liquid Catering
“When I moved to Dallas in 2012 the city just dazzled me, and the craft cocktails and hidden bars seemed endless and fantastic. So, I started to learn, eventually getting hired a bar that specialized in every classic cocktail but had no menu so the bartenders had to have this tremendous knowledge base. It was a huge challenge, but I was up for it. The other bartenders I worked with were amazing, and we each had our own style which balanced the bar fantastically. Creativity behind that bar was a must. Our guests craved new, adventurous flavors. We smoked glasses, infused vermouths, and used frozen melon balls as icy garnishes. That spirit has always been with me. If you can dream it, I want to make it!”

Tasty Tip
Q. What’s your favorite cocktail?
A. “I have a lot of fun deviating from classics. Classic craft cocktails are a great place to start because they’re tried and true but we’re lucky in that we have a constant stream of new cordials and spirits to play with. I like to remove one component from a classic and replace it with something new but similar. My favorite drink – as cliche as it may sound – is the one my guest likes to drink.”
