Meet The Chef – Doug Brown
A graduate of New York’s renowned Culinary Institute of America, Chef Brown became interested in cooking at a young age by watching his mother prepare three meals a day for his family of nine. At the age of 23, Chef Brown was appointed Executive Chef of the Nana Restaurant in The Hilton Anatole Hotel. Chef Brown received several accolades at Nana and elevated the restaurant to its first five-star rating from the Dallas Morning News. This accomplishment later earned him his first of three trips to the prestigious James Beard House in New York City. In 2003, Brown opened Beyond the Box Cafe in downtown Dallas, and Beyond the Box Catering Company was developed shortly after.
Cider Glazed Pork Belly, Vanilla Bean Sweet Potato, Pomegranate Seeds, Micro Arugula
Beyond the Box offers everything! Comfort, food truck, asian, southern, tex-mex – they do it all! They offer a large variety of delectable multi-cultural cuisines. Chef Brown says, “Your wedding is only one day… don’t hold back! You don’t get a do-over. Don’t be afraid to personalize the day and make it memorable.”
