About the Design:
We wanted to do something that married glamour and romance. The top is reminiscent of a headband or a statement necklace, while the bottom tier is suggestive of a gown — soft and flowy with movement. The ruffle/wave pattern is very on trend this wedding season. We wanted to put a little spin on it by placing the direction of the pattern on an angle as opposed to the typical horizontal direction you see on most round cakes. The pattern is made by cutting strips of fondant and crimping the edges by running a tool in a circular motion over the edges of each strip, almost like you’re erasing something with a pencil.
