There’s more to wedding day transportation than just the getaway, though, so we sat down with Blue Diamond‘s expert, Rebecca Harris, to chat about all things transportation-related on the wedding day! What transportation is included in your inventory?
We specialize in vintage cars, and our vintage cars include a 1963 Rolls Royce Silver Cloud III, 1936 Vintage Oldsmobile, 1966 Cadillac DeVille Convertible and a 1949 Bentley Mark VI Sedan.
How long is the rental period?
We offer individualized pricing, including one-way prices when you are just needing a ride from ceremony to reception, or from the reception to the hotel. In order to provide a price we would need to know the date, time of departure, pick up location and drop-off location. We also offer hourly rates when you are needing to be picked up from the house or hotel, taken to the church, and then dropped off at the reception site later. Some people want the vehicle to stay on site as a “prop” until departure time and some people want the car to leave and return at the end of the night to take from reception to hotel. We also offer photo shoots and prices vary.
Are drivers provided with the rental?
Yes, all of our vehicles come with a chauffeured driver. There are some companies that do allow you to rent a vehicle where the client can drive, but we provide the driver for all vehicles.
Who all involved in the wedding should be provided transportation?
Definitely the bride and groom, and generally we transport the wedding party to the church as well. And of course we’ve got gorgeous vintage cars for photo ops and the getaway! Couples often request a party bus, trolley, or shuttle bus large enough to accommodate the entire wedding party so everyone can pile in after the ceremony and head to the reception together. If you have several out-of-town guests, it’s also thoughtful to provide transportation to the church and reception venue since guests may not have a rental car and are unfamiliar with the area. Don’t forget transportation for elderly grandparents or guests who require special accommodations, too. Prearranged transportation is not only a thoughtful amenity for your wedding guests, it’s also a huge stress reliever and ensures everyone will arrive on schedule. Depending on your needs, you’ll likely require a combination of options, and we have it all… limos, town cars, shuttle busses, trolleys and even motor coaches.
What types of decorations can be added to the cars for Insta-worthy getaway pics?
We have some “Just Married” signage that is provided complimentary. We do allow clients to provide decorations that are approved. No tape, glue guns, wired ribbon or anything that would scratch the car. We do not drive down the road with the decorations on the vehicle. They are mainly for photos and are removed after departing so nothing flies off the vehicle while going down the road.
