Nestled in the stylish Uptown District of Dallas, Stanley Korshak Bridal is a local staple with an edge on the latest in bridal trends. The salon is also filled with a breath of fresh air thanks to a duo of industry experts at the helm. Meet owner Mackenzie Brittingham and buyer Christina Plumlee!

MacKenzie Brittingham purchased the salon two years ago and quickly began to bring new energy and talent to the salon. She hired well-known bridal professional Christina Plumlee in December 2017, which has evolved into a powerful partnership. Christina came from another high-end bridal salon in the Dallas area. The duo has kept longstanding hit designers like Vera Wang front and center while also bringing in popular new designers like Sareh Nouri and Gracy Accad.

Brides can expect to receive a truly personal experience with her own stylist. “Our team really listens. I think that’s so important,” Christina says. The salon has a wide variety of gowns for brides getting married on the beach to a cathedral wedding.

“My goal is to supply brides with the best from well-known designers while continually bringing in fresh new talent. This new buy for fall will make the salon the premier destination for savvy brides.” -Buyer and Manager Christina Plumlee

MacKenzie fell in love with wedding gowns, mastering sketches that captivated brides and led her to starting her own design company that she still maintains to date inside Stanley Korshak Bridal. She has a passion for creating gorgeous couture evening and bridal gowns. Christina first got her knack for weddings while working with her husband doing wedding photography.

“I tried working in retail once and went to work opening new stores, but the satisfaction you get from helping making someone’s special day come to life cannot be duplicated. I have been a bridal buyer for the last 15 years. It was a natural fit after working with so many brides,” Christina says.

With inspiration at their fingertips, brides are becoming more informed and more adventurous in their search for the perfect gown. It’s that desire for the latest styles in bridal that pushes these two to keep pursuing bigger things. They’re averaging about a trunk show a month, luring new brides into their salon regularly. Brides, alongside their mothers and girlfriends, sip champagne while they take in the more than 300 designer gowns waiting to be tried on. Brides can purchase their gown and get their alterations done in-house by some of the top seamstresses in the market.

“Our goal is to make the shopping experience something that the bride remembers the rest of her life and tells her friends about,” Christina says.

Christina and MacKenzie have plans to open new stores in other cities eventually, but for now are focused on continuing to grow the Dallas location. The new lines from markets in New York City, Milan, and Barcelona will begin occupying the store windows between August and October of this year.

“The new arrivals will change the face of the salon even more making this salon the destination for brides of the next decade,” Christina says.
