From the planner, Ginny Greene of Julep Events: “I was really inspired by the idea of doing something glam, edgy and unexpected. The Statler was the perfect blend of simple and modern and lent itself perfectly to the overall feel of the shoot. We wanted to echo that blending of vintage and modern in our details and also incorporated some chrome and metallic elements in honor of Brides of North Texas’ tenth anniversary – traditionally the Tin Anniversary.”
We really could not be more obsessed with this fun and flirty take on a stately mansion-inspired look! Maxwell + Gray pioneered a unique vision for this fine art fête inspired design, incorporating a bohemian style into the elegant and polished Rosewood Mansion on Turtle Creek. R. Love Floral provided stunning blooms, including a breathtaking suspended arrangement of pampas grass and blush roses that gives the scene a more relaxed, organic feel. Just below sits a picture-perfect tabletop design courtesy of Top Tier Event Rentals + Staffing and Beautiful Event Rentals. From the planner, Stacy Hillstead of Maxwell + Gray: “Our vision behind this shoot was to create an elegant mansion-inspired look but to push the envelope with it – to think outside the box through use of a bolder (almost bohemian) color palette, adding textures and playfulness in both the florals, tabletop, print and gown selections. We wanted to showcase the ability to create an elevated, romantic and yes, fine-art look, while allowing it to also feel approachable, playful and eclectic for all seasons.”
We’re head over heels for this romantic woodland grace altar design by House of Tales Events! From the planner, Lindsey Zamora of Lindsey Zamora Events: “In my personal life and work life, I am constantly drawn to clean lines and an overall modern aesthetic. Often times, in a modern environment there is so much negative space which gives your eye pause and allows one to see the beauty in a simple and uncluttered way. I wanted to create that environment with this editorial. I love the use of color in the design as well. I feel it is a bit unexpected but much appreciated.”
This free-spirited féte decor design by MK Event Boutique is every boho-chic bride’s dream! Captured by the talented Brittany Clark Photography, the rustic walls of The White Sparrow Barn serve as the perfect backdrop to showcase stunning florals from 21 Parc Floral and Events, as well as a truly unique sitting area created by Coral Lane that we just can’t get enough of. POSH Couture Rentals crafted the most exquisite tablescape, featuring gorgeous china, elegant glassware and, of course, the trendiest ghost chairs! Our bride’s off-white, V-neck lace gown from the Bridal Boutique fully embodies the vision behind this one-of-a-kind shoot. Her look was completed with a tousled updo and a bold smokey eye from the team at WZ Beauty Studio. Hannah and Annie, the masterminds behind MK Event Boutique, are obsessed with a statement cake, and HoneyLove Cakery provided just that with the most unique hanging display.
From the planners, Hannah Heres & Annie Edgar of MK Event Boutique: “Our design concept is centered around pampas grass… neutral, ambiguous, free-flowing and versatile. We decided to go more of the boho-chic plus elegance route… soft, romantic, bohemian, unique and delicate. Our main design focus is the tabletop, which is heavy in elevated and low lush floral and pampas grass with whimsical place settings and a draped soft chiffon runner that flowed onto the floor in dreamy pools of fabric. We are all about a statement take on the wedding cake, and the suspended cake from the teepee does just that. The teepee gives off the boho-chic feeling, paired with the elegant and romantic lounge area which tied everything together. This design concept couldn’t have been more dreamy!”
Melanie and Auggie’s gorgeous Dallas Arboretum engagement shoot by Deven Ashley Photography comes before their vintage garden wedding in March of 2019! Featuring a romantic color palette of blush, gray, mauve and violet along with a Spanish guitarist, their big day is sure to be one for the books! Keep scrolling for the stunning images from the shoot, as well as their sweet story.
December 25th, 2012, was the day it all started. Auggie and Melanie met on Christmas Day in Silver Spring, Maryland, during the movie Django! Melanie was sitting by herself in the perfect middle seat waiting for the movie to start, and Auggie (home for Christmas break) walked in with a group of his friends. There was only one seat open next to Melanie, and as soon as Auggie laid eyes on her, he stopped in his tracks and sat down, leaving all of his friends to fend for themselves. He eventually caught up with his friends, but not before asking Melanie to join them. Although appreciative, Melanie declined the invitation, but agreed to exchange numbers. Auggie returned to Missouri to finish his last year of school, and over the next year and a half the two remained close friends, talking every day despite the long distance. Eventually, their friendship blossomed into romance, and the rest is history!
From the bride: “Auggie proposed at Rockwall Harbor! It was my first day at my new job and he wanted to ‘take me out to dinner to celebrate’ at one of my favorite Mexican restaurants, Gloria’s. I knew immediately that something was up as we live near three Gloria’s locations, but we were driving about 45 minutes away to the Gloria’s in Rockwall. Once we got to the pier, he found the perfect spot along the water and began to propose. He also hired a photographer to capture the moment! I’ve always wanted an intimate proposal so it was wonderful taking in the moment during the sunset!”
