Hot Trends from New York Fall/Winter 2019 Bridal Fashion Week

Friday, October 12th, 2018

With another runway season behind us, we’re heading into the end of the year already looking forward to what Fall 2019 has in store for brides-to-be! Cooler weather seasons allow for greater experimentation with texture, layers, silhouettes and even color palette, and designers certainly proved this to be true for next fall’s lineup of runway fashion. From heavy embellishments to new accessories, there’s something a little dazzling for every bride, no matter your style! Scroll on for a few of our standouts and be sure to check out our Instagram profile for more live-action photos straight from the shows under the “FASHION” highlight tab!

Feathery Frocks

From dainty sleeve embellishments to full-on feather skirts, this light and airy design staple made a mega return this season in every way imaginable. While some designers tread lightly, others dove head-first in embracing the trend by creating looks that capitalize on the fluid movement of feathers in motion, exampled in this one shoulder mini from Pronovias. Be on the lookout for the arrival of the new collection in Bridal Boutique, Lovely Bride, LuLu’s Bridal, Patsy’s Bridal Boutique, and Stanley Korshak.

Cinched with a Corset

In a year filled with royal chatter, it’s to no surprise that nods to regality continue to inspire the design space in the bridal world. While high necks and long lace sleeves still made their mark for fall 2019, it’s the Victorian-era reminiscent corseted bodice that drew attention for its more versatile take on the trend. In the Watters show, nude underlay and a pearl embellished skirt gave the look a fresh, modern feel, perfect for the fashion-forward bride who appreciates a touch of tradition. Find the new collection in stores soon at Bridal Boutique and StarDust Celebrations.

Capes as the New Veil

While capes have become no stranger to the runways over the last few years, this season it was evident that they’re here to stay. In fact, a staggering number of designers favored showing looks that featured cape styles seemingly altogether replacing the need for a veil. Looks featuring attachments to the gown were neatly hidden on straps or even built-in similar to a hood to create multiple looks on one gown. Others paired the cape as an accessory. But regardless of the style, the one commonality was the trailing length behind each gown as if creating the look of a cathedral-length veil. Be sure to look for this fabulous Berta style and other cape looks from the Fall 2019 collection at Bridal Boutique.

With sweeping city views of some of Dallas’ most spectacular settings behind them, adorable couple Rachel and Greg’s charming downtown engagement from Jacque Manaugh Photography is filled with dreamy imagery, stylish outfits and tons of sweet moments to treasure for a lifetime! The iconic Majestic Theater made for the perfect, postcard like photos with a subtle vintage feel. We love how they chose to also incorporate the setting of their engagement into the celebratory shoot by making a stop by The Filter Building at White Rock Lake for some truly swoon-worthy moments! Scroll on to check out this darling engagement session and more on the couple’s meet cute story and upcoming wedding details below!

Having already met at work, it wasn’t until Rachel and Greg were placed on the same project for a big super bowl campaign that they realized their undeniable connection and chemistry and became instantly smitten! Fast-forward to a balmy, 90 degree day when Greg suggested a walk around White Rock Lake (suspiciously outfitted in a nice pair of jeans). To her surprise and delight, Greg proposed there with both his and her family watching incognito behind the bushes!

Just shy of a month away from their wedding at The Hall on Dragon, the couple has planned for their wedding to embody a modern classics feel with a touch of whimsy. Chinoiserie vases and citrus-filled table arrangements will add a splash of color to an otherwise clean color palette of soft ivories and whites. As one of their favorite details, the couple plans to honor Greg’s late mother by hanging her artwork along the hall to usher guests into the ceremony. We can’t wait to see all of the sweet moments of their beautiful day brought to life!

Wednesday, September 5th, 2018

Since the launch of our new Fall/Winter 2018 issue, we’ve been reveling in all of the delightful new content and reliving every moment of our Brunch with the Brides event at The Ritz-Carlton Dallas, where we unveiled the magazine in all of its glory to the very individuals who helped bring it to life! From cake vendors to wedding planners and even our own team members, there are few days of the year we treasure more than those spent with the talented area vendors and contributors who dedicate their time and efforts into making each issue a marvelous success! For the Fall/Winter 2018 issue release, The Ritz-Carlton Dallas graciously opened the doors to its brand new renovated ballroom and allowed the Shannon Rose Events team to work their magic in creating a fabulous lunch and lounge set up for all to enjoy, infusing both classic glamour and modern touches into the overall setup. With the help of both Beautiful Event Rentals and Posh Couture Rentals tables were set, cozy couches awaited and a buffet style set up of sweet, treats, bites and drinks from The Ritz awaited eager guests! 21 Parc Floral and Events created pretty-in-pastel floral arrangements of hydrangeas and varying sized roses in shades of ivory, peach and blush. Guests mixed and mingled while DJ Jason Esquire filled the room with a fun set list to get the party started and keep it moving throughout the entirety of the luncheon. Awaiting the big reveal, a giant dessert station of truffles, mini cakes, cookie sandwiches and much more from The Ritz made for a delightful snack break, while Honeylove Cakery set each place setting with an adorable mini geode-adorned cupcake to take home, making the event a sweet one to remember! A special thanks to Lip Service Makeup for glamming up the team, and of course, to the talented Courtney Hanson Photography for capturing all of the big day’s magic. We’re so thrilled to have launched another special issue and hope you’ll enjoy it as much as we did creating it with DFW’s all-star vendors! Enjoy!

Romantic Garden Engagement Session by Courtney Hanson Photography

Tuesday, August 7th, 2018

When it comes to announcing the sweet news of an engagement, there are few better backdrops than a bloom and foliage-filled setting as proven in this romantic garden engagement session by Courtney Hanson Photography! Choosing the Dallas Arboretum as their main photo location, the space’s variety in different types of gardens gave Elizabeth and Caleb with their all-star photographer plenty of creative opportunity for stunning photos! Elizabeth’s easy, natural glam look from Brittany Jones Hair + Makeup was the perfect choice for her sophisticated and stylish outfit choices. Their chemistry in front and behind camera is easy to see in this series of adorable shots – we especially love their finale photos dancing on a bridge framing the Dallas skyline. Such a special way to capture their love! Scroll down for their beautiful photo series and read more about their meet-cute story and upcoming wedding below!

When a stroke of fate brought ICU nurse Elizabeth and pharmacist-in-residency Caleb to the same hospital, Elizabeth knew she was immediately smitten – despite not actually going on their first date until a few months later! Thankfully, a mutual friend of the two encouraged the connection and happily passed on the news of Elizabeth’s interest to an excited Caleb. For their first night out, the two quickly found themselves falling for the other over dinner at Terilli’s in Lower Greenville, continuing the night with drinks at HG Supply. From there, as they say it, the rest was history!

Fast forward to a chilly February weekend where the duo were enjoying a vacation to Portland. Having had previously discussed a desire for marriage, but in the somewhat distant future, Elizabeth had no inclination of what the weekend had in-store. Two days into exploring the city, she had entirely ruled out the possibility of a proposal for the weekend. But Caleb had other plans in mind! After a trip-concluding hike along the Oregon coast, Caleb chose the perfect spot overlook the ocean for a rest, where he affirmed his love for Elizabeth and asked for her to spend their forever together!

Nearing in on their wedding date, the two will marry on August 18 at the Chapel at Ana Villa with a reception following at the venue’s ballroom. Keeping with their romantic engagement theme, the wedding details are centered around a soft, whimsical garden feel with a color palette of navy, nudes, grey and mauve, featuring tons of garden roses and greenery. We can’t wait to see this big day come to life!

Bohemian Bridal Brunch Inspiration from Olive and Nine

Friday, August 3rd, 2018

While we’re rarely ever short of pretty images in our inbox, we couldn’t help but completely fall for the stunning photos in this uniquely conceptualized styled shoot chock-full of bohemian bridal brunch inspiration from Olive and Nine! The genius team combined all that we love about a classic styled shoot and mixed in elements of whimsy and surprise to feature this stunning model bride and her bridesmaids at a cozy and close-knit brunch set up. Nestled in at the White Sparrow Barn, white washed wood walls and floors made for an airy, clean slate for super sweet and feminine details to shine. A pastel color palette paired with earthy neutrals created a welcome setting for the fun, floor-seated brunch spot. In lieu of traditional seating, a low wood table was set with plush pillows and cushions all from Beautiful Event Rentals, while the table was set with ornate antique-like dinnerware of patterned china and colored glasses and the most lovely pastel blooms from Blushington Blooms. Serving as its own centerpiece, we’re obsessing over all of the fantastic details in the gorgeous layered cake created by Sugar Bee Sweets. Each layer features an intricate detail, from a delicate hand pattern to flecks of foiled gold to create the perfect embellished sweet treat! Adding to the ethereal feel of this shoot, Brittany Jones Weddings created the perfect hair and makeup looks for the model bride and her group of gal pals with loose, styled waves and soft, natural makeup. We’re taking tons of inspiration for hosting the perfect bridal brunches! Enjoy!

Summer Citrus Wedding from Glitter and Glue Weddings and Events

Friday, July 27th, 2018

Just in time for the sweet spot of the season, we’re so thrilled to finally share this delightful, warm-weather inspired summer citrus wedding from Glitter and Glue Weddings and Events! Bright, eye-catching colors, the airy white-walled space of the Southern-style venue and tangy touches of sliced citrus fruits make up the details in this intricately styled shoot. Sleek and modern furniture, like the luxe emerald velvet couch and gold bamboo chairs at the table setting, accented the clean white space. For an extra dose of sweetness, XO Cakery created a luscious, four-tier cake with fresh orange and lemon slices paired with pink and white ranunculus blooms. The real star of the scene though was the model bride, wearing a strapless sweetheart gown with intricate lace overlay. Her maids wore bright pink dresses from Bella Bridesmaids as the perfect complement to the setting. We can’t get enough of this summer-inspired goodness! Cheers!

From the wedding planner: “A sweet vibrant summer themed wedding hidden in the back country roads of Waxahachie, Texas. What more could you ask for? If all these colors don’t light up your life and make you want to sip on a nice cool glass of Southern sweet tea on your patio, you aren’t living! We were inspired by the bright citrus, warm tones mixed with the vibrant greens that summer brings!

Our real couple, Amber and Andrew met in Denton, Texas, at the University of North Texas and soon fell head over heels with each other. As shown, having a proper tablescape adorned with beautiful florals by Floweristic Event Florals and candlelight makes for an intimate and cozy lunch or dinner! XO Cakery brought the goods and hit a home run with her beautifully crafted artisan cake topped off with tasty sugar coated orange and lemon slices! How unique?!”

French Countryside Wedding Inspiration from Rachel Elaine Photography

Wednesday, July 18th, 2018

Like a chapter out of a classic summer European romance story, this insanely beautiful styled shoot is giving us major wanderlust along with tons of French countryside wedding inspiration from Rachel Elaine Photography! Set amongst the impossibly beautiful rolling hills of Dove Ridge Vineyard, the backdrop alone will certainly transport you across the pond to a scene straight from the south of France. The design gurus from Events by Jade pieced together the setting using a feminine sweet color scheme of soft blush, ivory and mauve with bright contrasts in furniture and linens in plum and cerulean. A beautiful paper suite introduced the overall theme with vintage stamps, scrolling hand calligraphy and sketched illustrations of the beautiful vineyard. Antique-like furniture pieces like the tufted velvet couch and victorian style chairs paired perfectly with the more modern mirrored bar cart and long wooden table used outside for the dining table setting. As the star of the scene, we’re majorly swooning over this stunning model bride’s look in gowns from Lovely Bride Dallas and hair and makeup by Lip Service Makeup. In a glittering sheer long sleeved gown and ethereal two piece top and skirt set, her soft updo paired with fluttering lashes and a bright pink lip were the perfect choices for the dreamy setting. We’ll be obsessing over this styled shoot for weeks to come! Enjoy!

Brides of North Texas Brunch & Bowl | Partner Appreciation Party

Tuesday, July 3rd, 2018

With another production season come and gone, we can’t help but reflect back on some of the great times shared by our own in-house team and vendors alike, usually in celebration of the close of another fabulous issue. This time, we’re checking back on our Brunch and Bowl partner appreciation party for a fun and intimate gathering of the minds to enjoy a day of entertainment and delight! Pinstripes was the obvious locale choice thanks to their entertainment and dining options including bowling lanes, bocce courts, an outdoor patio and Italian-American bistro. A menu of tasty bites and drinks was created for the occasion and displayed, featuring small sized noshes. Attendees were also all able to join in the live t-shirt screen printing demo hosted by Side Show Screen Print, who created the bright, beautiful, custom examples modeled by our team! We love the idea of adding in a t-shirt or accessory screen printing station to your wedding or couples shower events, treating your guests to a little something extra in addition to a fun party! Our photographer friend Deven Ashley Photography joined us in capturing the best moments from the day for all attendees to cherish!

We love having the opportunity to collaborate with some of the creative geniuses behind the brands that make the Brides of North Texas what it is today! We’re eternally grateful for the support of our local partners and always look forward to celebrating our work efforts jointly unfold to create the next great issue. Cheers to another wonderful chapter of creativity and wedding love!
