Julie and Britt met through mutual friends while at an Arkansas football watch party. Both are originally from Arkansas and attended school there, but didn’t meet until they lived in Dallas. One Saturday morning, the couple went for a walk on the Katy Trail in Uptown — something they love to do. The walk began as it usually did until Julie spotted a sign in the middle of the trail that read, “will.” She didn’t suspect anything quite yet, until they came across another sign as they kept walking that read, “you,” followed by “marry,” and finally, “me.” After passing the last sign, the trail opened up into a courtyard where Julie’s name was hanging from a tree. There was music playing, and to both of their surprise, a crowd gathering, as Britt knelt down on one knee and proposed with a gorgeous ring that featured a diamond from his great grandmother’s engagement ring from 1916, almost 100 years earlier. Julie said “yes,” and the crowd cheered around them.
Julie and Britt had an August wedding at the Belo Mansion in downtown Dallas. Their wedding was classic and elegant with white and metallic accents. Cheers to the happy couple, and thanks to Dyan Kethley for sharing these beautiful shots!
