Neutral Outdoor Wedding Captured By Charla Storey Photography | Alyssa + Spencer
SWEET BEGINNINGS: Alyssa and Spencer met at the Oklahoma State University – Ole Miss Cotton Bowl Game at AT&T stadium. Alyssa was working for the Dallas Cowboys and was attending the game with her family. Her boss invited them to the suite where he was hosting his daughter and her OSU friends, one of whom was Spencer. They talked throughout the game, and he ended up asking for her number.
PERFECT PROPOSAL: Spencer and Alyssa had a date night planned at Savor, one of their favorite restaurants in Dallas. Little did they know, it was the second anniversary of Klyde Warren Park. When they pulled up, there were thousands of people everywhere. The couple enjoyed a phenomenal dinner before walking around the park. Since the evening was not quite going according to Spencer’s plan with the amount of people and festivities in the park, they walked to a quiet table on the north end, chatted and snapped a few pictures when he decided to improvise. He asked Alyssa to take a “selfie” of them and held the ring box over Alyssa’s shoulder. When Alyssa looked at the photo, she could see there was something very sparkly in his hand! Spencer knelt down on one knee and asked her to spend forever with him!
HUES TO USE: Alyssa wanted their wedding to feel as natural and timeless as possible. She used a neutral color palette with shades of green. It was outdoors, relaxed and family style with a slightly Italian feel.
BEAUTIFUL BLOOMS: Alyssa carried a loose and airy bouquet of greenery with touches of white floral by Posh Floral Designs. Blooms included silver dollar eucalyptus, Italian ruscus, bay leaf, rosemary, pepper berry leaves, snowberries, astilbe, white ranunculus, snowflake spray roses and garden roses.
SPECIAL TRADITIONS: Alyssa wore the veil that her mother gave to her friend and bridesmaid Nikki when she got married in 2009. The bride also had lace from her aunt’s wedding dress tied around her bouquet – the same lace her sister tied around her bouquet on her wedding day.
