Classic Black and White Wedding with a Modern Boho Twist

Devon and Branson’s classic black and white wedding was so much more than that, with a modern boho twist that will absolutely steal your heart! In their case, the key in creating this swoon-worthy style was in its creamy dreamy color palette, while contrasting black gives a modern look to the whole affair. Branson’s family has land in East Texas, and he and Devon love to visit and walk out onto the dock leading out over their pond. On Thanksgiving, he asked Devon to walk out onto the dock with him like any other time, but when she turned around Branson was down on one knee! He let her know soon after the proposal that her ring was made with diamonds that came from her mother’s wedding ring, who passed just a few years before from ovarian cancer. On her wedding day, bride Devon looked simply divine in her wedding attire, but the cherry on top was her full glam bridal makeup by AshleyDrew Artistry complete with a bold smokey eye and glowy lids and cheeks – truly radiating with that “just married” glow.

“It’s so special to wear the same diamonds that she wore every day,” Devon says. “The same diamonds that honored her marriage and now I can honor mine with them as well.”

Additionally, Devon’s bouquet was wrapped in lace from her mom’s wedding veil, adorned with charms from her mom’s best friend and her new mother-in-law, and Branson gifted her a necklace that was made from the main gem from her wedding ring – so she wore both her ring and necklace down the aisle in remembrance of her mother. We’re not crying, you are! Her bridesmaids complemented in chic black gowns that we just love, and guests enjoyed a lovely reception catered by Chuy’s and finished out with slices of this adorable two-tiered wedding cake from Butterfly Cakery with marbled design and flecked with artful gold leaf. Including so many small details that meant so much, Devon and Branson were thankful they hired a professional like Roaming Wild Photography to capture every part of their modern boho day from start to finish. Read on for a note from the bride about another one of her favorite wedding details and what made it so sentimental. Cheers to the new Mr. and Mrs. Parker!

From the bride: “My maid of honor was getting married only a couple of months after I was. We did all of the wedding dress shopping together for both of our weddings and realized that it would be so fun and meaningful to wear the same veil as one another. It was so special getting to put the same veil on her that she put on me on our wedding days.”
