Denay McCarty and David Moor’s Industrial Boho Wedding at Mopac Event Center
SWEET BEGINNINGS: Denay and David met through mutual friends in November of 2013. He was wearing an Oklahoma State University visor for the football game they were watching, but Denay quickly learned he went to Texas Tech University and was their biggest football fan. She went to the University of Texas at Austin, so their only arguments are centered on this rivalry.
PERFECT PROPOSAL: Denay had one rule: she wanted to be completely surprised. David sure delivered! Denay drove to Houston for her best friend’s bridal shower, but little did she know he planned to surprise Denay that weekend. While at brunch with her college friends, her best friend pulled her aside to show her the “very pretty patio.” She walked outside and saw a handsome man in a suit, but tried to walk back inside because there was no reason for David to be in Houston. Denay remarked to her best friend that the guy looked “exactly like David.” She smiled really big and Denay turned around and realized what was happening.
INDUSTRIAL BOHO: Denay and David’s industrial boho theme was filled with whites, creams, neutrals, and pops of light orange and summer red. She is a huge fan of the bohemian look full of organic greenery. Denay also loves the clean elegant look of whites and creams, and she knew she wanted to break tradition and have her bridesmaids wear these colors. She also loved the idea of incorporating pops of any color against neutrals.
BEAUTIFUL BLOOMS: Denay carried a wide, organic cascading bouquet with greenery and white florals including peonies, ranunculus, garden roses, clematis, veronica, jasmine and other neutral seasonal flowers. It was wrapped in neutral ribbon and color blocked with light flowers on the top.
VENDOR LOVE: Denay knows that there is so much planning and attention to detail incorporated into constructing the perfect wedding. Her planner, Jen, helped to create her vision and turn it into a reality. She could not have come close by doing it herself!
