THEIR STORY: Devan had just moved to Dallas from Denver, and not too long after, she decided to get out there and start dating. She went online and created a profile on Plenty of Fish not thinking anything would happen. She received a message from Jeremy after seeing him a time or two on the site. Not wanting to be the first to initiate anything, she waited for him to make the move. The minute they started talking, she knew he was different. They decided to meet for the first time on New Year’s Eve 2012. That night after she left him, Devan told her friends that she was going to marry this guy. They thought she was crazy because they had just met, but Devan knew he was the one – and she was right.

PERFECT PROPOSAL: Jeremy surprised Devan with a romantic engagement scene as her friends brought her to Stardust Celebrations. With Christina Perri’s “A Thousand Years” playing in the background, Jeremy knelt on one knee and asked for Devan’s hand in marriage. After she said yes, they met their friends and family at Whiskey Cake where they celebrated the rest of the day.

HUES SHE USED: Devan wanted to use colors that expressed her personality, so she went with ivory, gold and all things glitter. Guests were asked to wear black so that she would be the only person in color. The cake, made by one of her bridesmaids, fit the black and gold theme and featured the staple Kate Spade stripes and polka dots pattern.

DELICIOUS DISHES: This couple loves breakfast food, so what better theme than breakfast for dinner. They served eggs Benedict and chicken and waffles. There were also mimosas and doughnuts for favors.
