THE PLANNING: From the very beginning, Chelsea and Gerrit knew they wanted a fun, relaxed and stress-free wedding day. With the help of a wonderful coordinator, they were able to make their dream wedding a reality in the heart of Dallas near where the couple first met. It was really special that all of their family and loved ones were able to be in one place at one time and they were so grateful to everyone that could make the trip to celebrate with them.
THE FIRST LOOK: Chelsea and Gerrit opted for a first look because they wanted to share that sweet, intimate moment while seeing each other for the first time. Leading up to the wedding, Chelsea was overwhelmed by nerves and excitement. But the moment she saw her groom all dressed up in his tuxedo, an instant wave of serenity came over her and she was prepared to walk down the aisle.
SAYING “I DO”: The pair decided to do all of the couple, bridal party and family pictures prior to the ceremony to allow guests to relax during the cocktail hour. After they said, “I do,” the night flew by. From the first dance, to the best man and maid of honor speeches, to sitting down to eat (a single bite!), to cake-cutting and finally to tearing up the dance floor, the night couldn’t have gone more perfectly.
ENCOURAGING ADVICE: If you’re planning a wedding with a guest list of more than 100 (and if it’s in the budget), the bride would highly recommend getting a wedding coordinator. Chelsea and Gerrit had a month-of coordinator and she took charge of so many things. Whitney from Chic Fleur Weddings and Events was the biggest blessing to the couple! They can’t say enough compliments about her. Also, make sure someone packs a to-go box full of the yummy treats you’re serving at your wedding to snack on afterward!
