Britni Ramsey and Stephen Weiss’ Romantic DFW Barn Wedding
SWEET BEGINNINGS: Britni and Stephen met at a church luncheon while she was on staff at Pantego Bible Church and was trying to run her own wedding planning business, Borrowed & Blue Occasions. She thought he was cute, but didn’t expect to see him again. Later on, Britni and some friends started up a Home Group at their pastor’s house for young adults, and to Britni’s pleasant surprise, Stephen showed up. Over the next couple of months they would talk at Home Group, but it wasn’t until after they both ran a 5k together, that they ended up talking just the two of them and they hit it off.
PERFECT PROPOSAL: Britni thought they were just grabbing dinner with friends and having a game night, but it turned out to be so much more! After dinner, Britni went back to Stephen’s house, and he asked her to check something out downstairs. When she met him downstairs, the back door was open to his deck and all she could see was candles, photos and flowers. Stephen brought her outside and immediately started reading the most heartfelt letter, reminding her that they were on the same back porch where they had first talked about their future together. He asked her to marry him and she said yes! During their celebration with family and close friends following, Stephen handed Britni an envelope. She opened it and realized that he had booked her dream venue; they were getting married at The White Sparrow Barn!
THE SETTING: White Sparrow was Britni’s dream venue; it is light and romantic, it speaks for itself and doesn’t need a lot of décor to make it beautiful. She and Stephen chose White Sparrow because of its look but also because they are outdoor-loving people and wanted their wedding to reflect that. The couple wanted a space big enough to make it feel like a family event, while maintaining their theme with fun, romance and natural elements.
VENDOR LOVE: Grit + Gold rocked it that day! Britni couldn’t imagine doing the wedding without them. They allowed Britni and her friends to sit back and soak up the fun stuff.
