Classic North Texas Wedding at Rosewood Crescent | Brett + Corey
by Lindsey Craig May 10
SWEET BEGINNINGS: Brett and Corey met in the summer of 2009 through mutual friends and instantly became best friends. The thought of taking their relationship any further never crossed their minds – well maybe it crossed Corey’s a few times. One cold and windy night in February while out with a group of friends, the two talked on an outdoor patio overlooking downtown Dallas. As the wind kept blowing, a strand of Brett’s hair swept across her face. Corey proceeded to sweep the strand from her face and tuck it gently behind her ear. It was at that moment when everything changed.
PERFECT PROPOSAL: Brett and Corey started a collection of Christopher Radko Christmas ornaments that symbolized a big event in their lives that past year. On Christmas day in 2014, the couple was at Corey’s twin sister’s Christmas party playing a game of White Elephant. As it became Brett’s turn to open a gift, she was handed a nicely wrapped present. When she opened the gift, there was a Christopher Radko ring box ornament with the words, “Will you marry me?” on it. Brett was completely shocked as she turned to see Corey down on one knee.
CLASSICAL ELEGANCE: The style of the wedding was classic elegance with beautiful shades of white, ivory, cream and blush surrounding the ceremony and reception areas. The bridesmaids were wearing beautiful dresses by Vatana Watters fall 2014 collection, purchased at Bella Bridesmaids. These lovely floor-length strapless gowns complemented the wedding ceremony perfectly.
WORDS OF WISDOM: The best advice the newly married couple can give is to live in the moment on your special day. The planning process may seem like it takes forever, and it is very meticulous because you have to plan out every little detail, but the wedding day itself goes by way too fast.
SAYING “I DO”: As she walked down the aisle, Brett had many emotions. She was excited, nervous, hoping she wouldn’t “ugly cry,” but also had bittersweet feelings. She had always pictured her father walking her down the aisle. Even though her dad was not there physically, she knew he was there in spirit.
