Glam Garden Wedding Captured by Celina Gomez | Cristy + Chris
SWEET BEGINNINGS: Cristy was at a Christmas party in 2007 when Chris walked in. She couldn’t stop staring at him. They had a great conversation that night but then went their separate ways. They had mutual friends at the party though, so they hung out in groups a handful of times over the next six months. By the time summer rolled around they connected online, and Chris finally asked Cristy for her number. Over the following year, they went from flirtatious text messages and seeing each other sometimes, to forming a true friendship that consisted of talking every day and hanging out every weekend. By June 2009, knowing that Cristy was in love with him the whole time, Chris finally had the courage to take their relationship to the next step – to officially date!
PERFECT PROPOSAL: On the fifth anniversary of the day Chris first told Cristy that he loved her, they were on their way to meet family and friends for a get together. On the way there, Chris took a different turn through the back roads that led to a beautiful open field. He parked and asked Cristy to get out and take in the view of the sunset with him. As they were stepping out of the car, Cristy noticed that their song was playing through the speakers. Her heart started racing right then. After he walked around to her, he started talking about their future together. They both started to tear up. Chris knelt down on one knee and asked Cristy to marry him. She said yes!
GARDEN GLAM: Cristy was inspired by a “Midsummer Night’s Dream, first because June 22 is typically around the time of the summer solstice, and second, she loved the idea of a lush, natural and outdoor setting. She included a range of florals in pink and red hues, from light and airy peach to deep marsala, throughout the wedding décor.
LIVELY ENTERTAINMENT: College Station String Quartet performed live for the guests at the ceremony. They played a rendition of Bruno Mars’ “Just The Way You Are” for the family processional and Justin Timberlake’s “Mirrors” while Cristy walked down the aisle with her mom. They performed “All You Need is Love” by the Beatles for the recessional. They also performed string versions of pop hits during the cocktail hour and played the Game of Thrones theme song when the bride and groom entered their reception.
