SWEET BEGINNINGS: Nina and Nick’s paths first crossed in Singapore. They had been living internationally for most of their lives due to their parents’ careers, and despite their globe trotting lifestyle, they both ended up at the Singapore American School at the same time. Most people would assume their relationship started there, but they were both too afraid to make a move, so it seemed like it would become another forgotten high school crush. Circumstances proved otherwise, with each of them deciding to attend Southern Methodist University. They first officially met at SMU in August 2010, and Nick says in an act of uncharacteristic social prowess, he managed to score a date with Nina before the school year had even begun. This head start proved unnecessary as their burgeoning relationship quickly blossomed into a whirlwind romance. From Greek formals and SMU Boulevards, to music festivals and road trips, they quickly grew to be more than just great friends and realized they shared more than a common history of growing up overseas. Four years later would be the real test of their relationship when Nick moved after graduation. However, distance, as they say, makes the heart grow fonder, and in this case showed them what was truly important – each other.
THE SETTING: Nina and Nick really wanted to embrace the natural beauty of a wedding at Mitas Hill Vineyard, so they chose neutral tones for their wedding décor with creams, hints of blush and green from vines.
SPECIAL TOUCHES: The beautiful sweetheart table was one of Nina’s favorite décor moments. The amazing settee couch the newlyweds sat at, as well as the Mr. & Mrs. sign that sat at the front of the table was absolutely perfect for the vision and feel they wanted.
